In 2011, Edzo was elected President of the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts a state association representing 12,000 professional union firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians protecting over 200 locals throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
The same year Edzo was also:
Elected Executive Vice President for Public Sector of the Massachusetts AFL-CIO representing 400,000 union members.
Appointed by the Governor as a Commissioner at the Department of Fire Services.
During his time as PFFM President Edzo was also appointed by the Governor as a Commissioner to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Group Insurance Commission. The GIC's FY2016 appropriation is $2.1 billion and covers over 435,000 people. The GIC is one of the largest healthcare purchasers in the northeast.
In 2015, Edzo Graduated from the Harvard Trade Union Program. He was elected by his fellow graduates as the class speaker at the Graduation ceremonies of the class of 2015.
Later that year, while serving as Chairman of the PFFM EMS Committee the committee successfully developed cutting edge legislation. After a lengthy and vigorous lobbying campaign, saw the Massachusetts Governor sign the first of it's kind legislation on Integrated Mobile Healthcare.
