• IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter's Memorial Observance: A Fitting Tribute to My Friend & Brother
    Updated On: Jan 16, 2020

I was both humbled and honored to participate as a flag presenter at this years IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial service in Colorado Springs, CO.

I had the distinct honor to present the IAFF Flag in memory of my longtime friend, Neal Mullane, Sr., to his daughter, Sue Gillis.  Sue’s husband and I have worked together for seventeen years on Ladder 17, and I served as a groomsman at their wedding. Brother Neal Mullane was the former Vice President of Boston Local 718, and member of the Local 718, and IAFF Health and Safety Committee.  Throughout his career, Brother Mullane worked tirelessly to see to it that our Brothers & Sisters throughout the IAFF had the best equipment and protective gear.  Neal also helped many Locals write grants to secure funding for the purchase of personal protective equipment for their members.

Neal’s name, along with the names of 310 other IAFF Brothers & Sisters who paid the supreme sacrifice last year joined the names of 7018 members we have lost in the line of duty since 1918.

    We must Never Forget.
